World Cares Center (WCC) collaborates with community groups, municipalities and relief agencies to more effectively integrate and utilize community volunteers, to prepare citizens to safely participate in their communities' emergency response, and to foster recovery and resilience in those affected by disaster with a focus on social and emotional well-being. Building on lessons learned from past disasters and from its collaborative partners, World Cares Center delivers unique educational adn resilience-building services.
The Leading and Managing Disaster Volunteers training series teaches emergency manager and leaders within relief agencies skills to effectively utilize community volunteers who spontaneously respond during a disaster. The overview is the first class in a curriculum which focuses on spontaneous volunteer management in order to enhance current disaster response initiatives.
Who Should Attend:
Anyone who works with volunteers or who may potentially work with volunteers during a crisis. CERT Teams, Citizens Corp, Medical Reserve Corp, Public Health Wor4kers, Emergency Management Teams, Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, Government Officials, Medical Professionals and school officials.
