The 2018 Ready Responders Boots on the Ground Exercise

Get Trained. Take Action. Respond

On Saturday, May 19th, 2018, over 100 citizens from across the five boroughs gathered on Randall’s Island to practice their response skills in the Ready Responders™ Boots on the Ground exercise (RRN BOG), a simulated disaster response exercise.

The RRN BOG provided a unique opportunity for citizens and hyper local leaders of at-risk communities to come together to practice disaster response skills, leadership roles, and collaboration with experienced agencies and municipalities, and create a seamless disaster resilient community.

Disaster response and management skills were practiced including volunteer reception center management (VRC), mucking, gutting, and mold suppression and emotional resiliency.

The 2018 RRN BOG was sponsored by Con Edison, GFP Real Estate, AECOM Tishman, Brooklyn Brewery, and John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Our esteemed list of partners included the United War Veterans Council, Contingency Planning Exchange, Rutgers School of Public Health, Molloy College, Ready Rockaway, and many more. Observers including FEMA, and the NYPD were also in attendance.

Stay tuned for details on the 2019 Ready Responders™ Boots on the Ground exercise.
