Our Mission

World Cares Center

  • founded by the very community members we seek to engage and empower in disaster response.
  • principles are grounded by experience in the field working with the grassroots community in multiple responses and environments.
  • combines the grassroots approach with the study of Disaster Management, the Incident Command Systems, and its work with FEMA and multiple Offices of Emergency Management and has authored a field guide. WCC also delivers its training in a university setting.
  • ensures the quality, effectiveness, and integration of the most relevant topics, approaches, and perspectives by partnering with academics and subject matter experts, including the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences, NYCOSH, Rutgers University, and John Jay College of Criminal Justice
  • dedicated to delivering services, and while self-care is critical, our team members are considered to be front-line volunteers readying themselves to be available to serve during crisis and emergencies. Whether it is a snowstorm or catastrophic disaster, our team has prepared themselves to be available to implement our mission and programs.

World Cares Center’s mission is to ease the harm, suffering, and loss caused by disasters through the empowerment of under-served, at-risk communities to prevent everyday accidents and react as educated and skilled ready responders when disasters occur.

World Cares Center knows that resiliency is best promoted when all community members are prepared to respond to disasters together.

Everyone can be a Ready Responder!
